Cottage Holiday in Cornwall

This is my third year that I have been lucky enough to stay in a cottage with our friends, Simon and Chloe. They are smart, sensible, down-to-earth friends who are about 3 years ahead of us in the real-life game. They've got the most adorable, most incredible, little firecracker named Libby. If we could shower her with snuggles and kisses we would. Unfortunately, she's in her "terrible twos" and snuggling isn't an option. But either way, we love them all, and we love our time with our friends. We treasure it like a pirate with a chest of gold.

Tonight we got to all spend time in the hot tub, drinking strawberries and champagne. No longer is our talk so centered on our youth and shenanigans, but their adorable monster and how we can get one of our own (without kidnapping charges!) It is amazing how quickly our lives can change focus, and how 9pm used to seem so early and now is my normal bedtime. 

I am so grateful for the beginning of our round-the-world trip to start with such an easy crowd and setting. My greatest hope is to end up as happy and as well adjusted as they are, with a little monster to call my own. A few days in, we look forward to many more days of beach fun, chips, sunshine, swimming and walking to make a positive start to our adventure. Come on Metsons, bring on the fun!
